FAQ’s

Q - Are the Safari tents near other people/buildings? A- No, Both tents are on a 500 acre farm positioned half a mile along the farm track in a remote area with no other buildings on site.

Q - Are the tents good for social distancing? A- Our two tents are generously spaced about 60 meters apart. With their own bathroom, kitchen and parking bay they are ideal for isolation with your family and chosen friends.

Q - Will we be met by the owners on arrival? A - You can choose not to and find your way to the tents which are sign-posted or if you would like to be met the owners will meet you in the farmyard. You can stay in your car and follow the owners in their car to the tent.

Q - What is your cancellation policy? A - We have changed our cancellation policy due to the COVID19 pandemic. Please look at our T&C page here

Q - What is your cleaning policy regarding COVID19? A- The tents are scruprously cleaned by a certified cleaning company who have been trained specifically for covid19 using the correct cleaning products. (more on this to follow when information is available).

Q - Do you cater for parties? A- We are happy to host family groups and friends. Hen & Stag parties are welcome when both tents are booked and by so doing have the whole site for the event.

Q - Do you have availability for my dates? A - To check availability follow the pages to “Availability & Book my stay”. Choose which tent you would like - Skylark or Sandpiper - the link will take you to the tents calenders. Alternatively please feel free to give us a call - 07831 328938.

Q- Can friends join us? A- The cost of the tent does not change regardless of the number of people staying up to a maximum of eight in each tent.

Q - Can we walk to the village? A- Yes, There are footpaths to Appledore and Stone-in-Oxney. Maps are supplied in the tents.

Q - Can I bring my dog?
A - Your dog is very welcome. There is no livestock on the farm. An additional charge is made to cover extra cleaning. Two dogs max per tent.

Q - How many tents are there at Wheatfields?
A - There are two Safari tents generously spaced apart, approx 60 meters. Both have their own parking bay.

Q - How many do the tents sleep?
A - Sandpiper can sleep up to 8 in 3 bedooms - 1 x King, 1 x double in the cabin & 1 x Bunk room with two adult strong bunks sleeping up to 4.
- Skylark can also sleep up to 8 but in 4 bedrooms - 1 x king, 1 x double in the cabin, 1 x double/twin and 1 x bunk with one bunk sleeping up to 2.

Q - What is the Bell tent?
A - The Bell tent has a double bed and is used exclusively by guests of Sandpiper only at an extra charge.

Q - Where is the nearest supermarket?
A - If coming from the M20, we would advise you to shop prior to leaving Ashford. There are x 2 Tescos, Aldi, Asda and a Sainsbury’s all within 5 mins of leaving junction 10. There is also a Jempsons (TN31 7AX) supermarket within the town of Rye, approximately 8 mins drive from the site. This supermarket has a wonderful array of homemade and local produce as well as all major brands and groceries - opening hours: Mon-Sat 6am-8pm, Sunday closed.

Q - Will we be met on arrival? A- we will meet you in the farm yard when you arrive. Please give 30 mins notice of your arrival time. You can drive to the tents following the owner who will show you where to park but will not show you around the tent as previously done. Any questions the owners will be available by phone.

Q - What do I need to bring? A- The tents are fully equipped with everything you need - Bedding, towels, basic kitchen supplies. You only need to bring what you would like to eat and drink and wet weather gear if the forecast looks a bit dodgy!
